Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint, from 1 September 2026, an outstanding individual to teach Computer Science in our friendly and highly successful department. The successful candidate will be expected to teach throughout the School, including the Sixth Form. This is a permanent, full-time position. The start date for the role is September 2026 but January 2027 may be possible for the right candidate.
Teachers at MGS benefit from being members of the Teacher Pension Scheme (TPS).
We are looking for someone with a strong degree who can provide inspirational teaching for our talented pupils, sharing with them their passion for the subject. Applications are equally welcome from those who have not taught before and those with teaching experience. Full training, including support to achieve qualified teacher status, will be provided where required. In addition, the School is committed to providing ongoing professional development opportunities for staff at all stages of their career.
At present, the Computer Science Department consists of five full-time teachers. The teacher appointed will join a team which offers strong mutual support, is creative in its approach and pro-active in developing opportunities for both pupils and staff.
Alongside their teaching duties, all teaching staff have a pastoral role as form tutors and are expected to play a full and active part in the co-curricular programme of the School.
