The Opportunity

We are looking for an inspiring, engaging and talented teacher who has the relevant skills and experience to take on the role of Teacher of Classics and Humanities. We are looking for a candidate who has the skills and ability to teach Humanities subjects up to GCSE and the ability to teach Classics up to A -level.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences for their students within and beyond the classroom, and keen to contribute to wider aspects of School life.

The Classics Department

The Classics department is a thriving and growing department central to the school's academic offering. With three staff, we are housed in the stunning Main House and teach Latin and Classical Civilisation, with Greek offered to Sixth Form pupils on an ad hoc basis. Latin is compulsory for all pupils in Years 7 and 8 and sees consistent numbers at GCSE with significant recent growth at A Level. Classical Civilisation is a popular A Level option and is being offered at GCSE for the first time in September 2026.

The Humanities Department

The Humanities department is a strong strong and expanding department with excellent examination results. The Humanities Faculty comprises of five subjects. The Humanities subjects are history, geography, religious studies, Travel and Tourism is offered as a vocational course in the Sixth Form and Politics is being offered for the first time in September 2026. It is an innovative Faculty that sparks curiosity, challenges minds, and empowers the next generation to connect with the world around them.
