Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a full-time teacher of Biology, teaching the subject to GCSE and ideally to A Level (both AQA specifications). The Science Department at Lord Wandsworth College is organised into the three separate sciences, each with its own Head of Department. There are four biologists, as well as four full-time chemists and four physicists.
In January 2022, the department moved into a new, purpose-built building with 13 laboratories. Each science has its own suite of 4 laboratories and a prep room. In addition, there is one Junior Science lab. Each laboratory is equipped with wireless internet access and a smart screen. Pupils access resources via their own devices and teaching is supported by Microsoft OneNote.
You will be expected to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the College's policies under the direction of the Headmaster. Teaching at LWC requires that members of the academic staff be willing to contribute fully to the life of the College. This includes tutoring, co-curricular involvement, boarding house duties, cover duties and attending parents' evenings for the year groups taught. Liaison with parents is included in the sphere of the teacher's responsibilities.
LWC offers a broad range of staff benefits including contributory pension scheme, fee remission for children, free lunch, use of wide-ranging school facilities - swimming pool, tennis, walks, trails etc and excellent social and sporting events.
Should you wish to discuss the role in strict confidence please feel free to contact the Head of Biology, Andrew Molin, molina@lordwandsworth.org.
For more information and to apply, please visit our vacancies page.
Closing date: midday on Thursday 18th June 2026.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 25th June and Friday 26th June 2026.
The college reserves the right to close the role early. Please note 2 references will be required prior to interview.
