Full Job Description
As a Teacher in the Communication and Interaction Unit you will:
- Take strategic responsibility for the unit's development and day-to-day operations
- Coordinate and deliver targeted provision to meet pupils' individual needs
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues in the unit team
- Be a key point of contact for external agencies and the local authority, and contribute to EHC planning and review
- Analyse assessment information and use it to refine provision and intervention
- Promote a nurturing culture that supports pupils with communication and interaction needs to thrive academically and socially
- This is a full-time, permanent post paid on the Main Pay Scale plus an SEN point., All our staff and volunteers who work with children are subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service as appropriate.
We are looking for a teacher who will lead with compassion, expertise and ambition. You will: - Be a qualified teacher with at least two years' teaching experience and demonstrable experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Have strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and effective intervention strategies for communication and interaction needs
- Be able to plan, sequence and adapt a specialist curriculum that meets pupils' individual pathways
- Communicate clearly and build strong working relationships with pupils, families and a range of professionals
- Be flexible, resilient and practical - able to respond to emerging needs and prioritise effectively
