Mayfield School is looking for an inspirational, dynamic and innovative Leader for Teacher Development to join our growing team. The successful postholder will be an experienced teacher with a track record of excellence in the classroom. We are proud to be a Unicef Rights Respecting School, on a journey to achieve the gold award. Mayfield School has a significant cohort of initial teacher trainees and early career teachers, and we are committed to providing the support and working conditions for them to flourish and develop as professionals. This post involves planning, co-ordinating and providing regular and robust training and development opportunities for all ITTs and ECTs so that they can complete their training and induction successfully and become competent and confident teachers., The Leader for Teacher Development will own the integrity of Mayfield Schools ITT/ ECT offer, working closely with associate partners to ensure high quality delivery. This role would suit someone holding the National Professional Qualification for Leading Teacher Development, or someone willing to undertake this qualification.

The successful postholder will be a qualified teacher with a minimum of three years post NQT/ECT experience. Education Impact Academy Trust (EIAT) is three Special Schools and a Specialist College (19-25). We also have two mainstream day nurseries. You will work with a team of staff to support children and young people to reach their full educational potential. We believe that 'Better Never Ends'. You may work with individuals who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e. hearing or visual), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these challenges. A key aspect of working within EIAT is that we identify individual needs and create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. We take staff wellbeing and CPD very seriously and your professional development will provide you with a whole range of opportunities and equip you for a great career. We have 10 CPD days per year offering plenty of opportunity for your professional development. We want to engage all staff to support each other and feel included in our collaborative environment. Staff are trained to a high level and apply skills and knowledge together for the benefit of all.

There will be a teaching commitment attached to this role. This will allow the postholder to role model excellent classroom practice to others. You will be working with pupils who have persistent differences with social interaction, social communication and understanding emotions. Our pupils need clear boundaries and consistent support with engagement, learning, emotional regulation, and sensory needs. The school is split across two sites - Wheeler Street in Lozells (co-located with Holte School and Lozells Junior and Infant School and Nursery) and Heathfield Road in Handsworth.
