Full Job Description
At Hazel Cottage School, teaching is about more than delivering lessons. It's about changing lives. Step away from the pressures of mainstream education and focus on what matters most: helping every student discover their strengths, build confidence and achieve their full potential. Working with small classes and individual learners with autism and additional needs, you'll create engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Every breakthrough, no matter how big or small, becomes a meaningful milestone, and you'll be there to celebrate each success along the way. As part of our dedicated and specialist team, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact every day, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs, interests and aspirations of every young person you support. If you're a passionate and creative teacher looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your wellbeing is supported and your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging, personalised lessons that inspire and motivate students.
- Adapt learning to meet a range of needs, abilities, and learning styles.
- Track progress and celebrate achievements, both big and small.
- Develop and review individual learning and support plans.
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Support students' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with education and care teams to ensure consistent support.
- Contribute to school improvement and your own professional development.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and resilient teacher who is passionate about helping students with additional needs thrive. - UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required.
- Experience teaching students with SEND, Autism, SEMH, or complex needs, or a genuine desire to develop within specialist education.
- The ability to deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated learning.
- A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- The confidence to support and positively manage challenging behaviour.
- The creativity to think differently and find new ways to help every student succeed.
