Full Job Description

Package Description: To protect our autistic pupils and young adults within the National Autistic Society, all employees will be required to complete the relevant safeguarding checks which will include additional references and criminal background checks.
Join Us as a Teacher
At the National Autistic Society, we offer many services to support autistic children and young people. We work to improve education, care, and experiences so they can reach their full potential.
About the School
At Robert Ogden School, we provide a safe, caring, and friendly environment. Our buildings are large, bright, and designed to be low-arousal.
Our Inclusive Learning Hub supports pupils with complex needs in a calm, non-confrontational way. Every pupil follows an individualised curriculum.
About the Role
As a Teacher, you will lead the planning and delivery of personalised, motivating learning experiences for autistic children and young people, some with additional complex needs. You'll take full responsibility for classroom management, curriculum delivery and ensuring that teaching meets statutory requirements and supports every child's development.
What You'll Do
Deliver high-quality autism-specialist teaching using frameworks such as SPELL, creating a safe, engaging and well-managed learning environment.
Plan and deliver a broad and balanced personalised curriculum, while monitoring and reporting on pupils' progress.
Work closely with families and professionals, contributing to EHCP reviews and supporting children's wellbeing, progress and inclusion.

Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families, multi-disciplinary professionals and external agencies.
Strong curriculum knowledge (KS1-5) and experience delivering differentiated learning to meet a wide range of needs, including autistic learners.
A qualified teacher with the ability to remain calm, positive and reflective while supporting pupils with autism and, where needed, complex needs such as ADHD, OCD or PDA

This role is a permanent term-time role, full-time at 37 hours per week.
