Tax Manager

Location: Solihull Department: Accounting & Business Support Overall Purpose Responsible for all aspects of the Personal Tax function at the Solihull office reporting to three directors. Brief Job Description

• Oversee personal tax compliance for approximately 800 clients including HNWIs and trusts.
• Provide complex tax technical advice to clients and colleagues in connection with income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning
• Ensure that statutory tax filing deadlines and client expectations are met by the personal tax staff. Monitor tax return completion and keep the directors updated on progress.
• Maintain and develop tax technical knowledge.
• Manage WIP, billing and recoverability for the personal tax department.
• Oversee the personal tax staff including reviewing work, assisting with technical matters and undertaking staff appraisals.
Requirements for the role
• CTA / ATT qualifications or equivalent experience in personal tax
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation
