Full Job Description

We offer clients an end-to-end tax disputes service designed to reduce the risk of disputes and manage them effectively through to resolution. Working across all taxes, our specialist team is fully integrated into PwC's tax practice, enabling support at every stage, from enquiries and investigations to negotiated settlements or court proceedings. Clients value our commercial understanding, strong track record, and clear strategic advice. We also support tax risk management, governance, and remediation of open issues with tax authorities. As demand grows, the Tax Risk & Dispute Resolution team is recruiting a director to lead its Tax Governance offering in London and the South. What your days will look like

  • Lead clients in designing tax risk management frameworks and navigating UK governance requirements, including Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) and Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO) obligations.
  • Manage HMRC interactions on SAO matters, including correspondence, discussions, and penalty settlements, while applying strong knowledge of HMRC guidance and practice.
  • Provide clear written advice, oversee billing and financial management, and present technical updates to the London Tax Practice and at client-facing business development events.
  • Drive growth in the tax governance offering through innovation, business development, and leadership across a broad range of client types, sectors, and organisational sizes.

You have significant experience of working with clients on tax governance and managing HMRC on SAO correspondence
  • Proven track record in driving business growth and building teams
  • You possess excellent written and verbal skills
  • Tax enquiry experience also considered
  • You have the ability to work independently with good time management and organisation

In order to be the leading professional services firm it's important we have the right values, culture and behaviours embedded throughout our organisation, so our work reflects our purpose and we can successfully deliver our strategy.
  • Our values set the expectations for the way we interact with each other, our clients, and in the communities in which we operate. These values, and the behaviours that they require from us, are relevant to all our people regardless of grade. They support a culture that empowers our people to be the best they can be, through challenging experiences and encouraging our people to speak up to make the firm a better place. We want all our people to understand and embrace the culture and personally feel part of the legacy this will create for our future employees. We're a hugely diverse business, bound together by our purpose - to build trust in society and solve important problems for our clients and the communities in which we operate. We believe we can make the biggest impact when our purpose is embedded within everything we do.
