Job Details

Tavern, Great Harwood - Blackburn

The Tavern, Great Harwood is a traditional end terraced community local on busy Church Street, right through the centre of town, giving it strong visibility and steady passing trade alongside a loyal base of regulars. It's an open plan pub with a central bar that naturally splits the space into four easy to run zones, plus a beer garden to the rear that adds great seasonal trading.

Current estimated weekly sales are around £6000 and the business is 100% wet led, showing the strength of the existing drinks trade and the reputation the pub holds within Great Harwood. The town centre position also brings in tourists and circuit drinkers at the weekend, giving a good platform to drive high energy trading during peak times.

There's genuine sales growth potential for the right operator who wants to lean into what this pub does best: being the hub of the community. The opportunity is to build a more "can't miss" entertainment calendar with exclusive events (live music, themed nights, comedy nights), become truly sports obsessed around fixtures and leagues, and make better use of the onsite kitchen by introducing a small, well executed food offer.

We're looking for an experienced community operator who understands how to create a welcoming, consistent local, can build relationships quickly, and will be visible in the business driving sport, entertainment and engagement week after week. Local knowledge would be a real advantage, along with the energy to keep standards high while growing trade in a way that feels authentic to Great Harwood.

What's in it for you?

  • 20% share of weekly wet sales, excluding VAT. Keep 100% of the food sales.
  • Low ingoing costs, starting with just a £5,000 deposit and £360 legal cost. (
    • deposits can vary dependant on business - ask us for more details)
  • Accommodation included with most bills covered, except the council tax & TV License.
  • As part of our application process, we use Lily, an AI-powered interviewing assistant to support the early stages of screening. Lily helps us move quickly, keep things flexible for you, and create a more consistent candidate experience, but one thing you should know - all hiring decisions are still made by our people.
