The role reports into the Head of the System Development, Training and Support Service and the service sits within the Quality Practice, Relationships and Support Directorate. The team works across Children's Social Care, Early Help and Education services, supporting and helping to deliver business requirements into systems solutions. The role works closely with the System Training and Support Services, wider heads of service and service colleagues to understand operational requirements, supporting the development, configuration and optimisation of case management systems, assisting in the delivery of system transitions required for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and providing technical support and guidance for system users. The Systems Development Team is one of three teams that sit within the System Development, Training and Support Service, responsible for supporting staff with system changes, system training and managing and resolving system issues. About the Role This role supports system development and transformation within Children's Services, helping staff build confidence and capability in using digital systems effectively. Working closely with the System Development, Training and Support Service, you will contribute to improving how systems are used in practice, supporting both day to day operations and wider changes linked to Local Government Reorganisation. You will work with colleagues to embed system improvements, respond to user feedback and identify opportunities to streamline processes, while promoting strong data quality and digital best practice. How did you gather feedback, implement changes and measure success? 4. This role involves working with a range of stakeholders in a fast paced environment. Describe a situation where you had to manage competing priorities while supporting different users or teams, and how you ensured a positive outcome.

  • An understanding and usage of case management systems (e.g., social care systems such as Liquidlogic)
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Practical or professional experience and understanding of Children's services and/or Education services, supporting service teams and/or providing support to the public
  • High proficiency in Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for continuous improvement

    This role has a starting salary of £41,585 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
  • This is a fixed term contract/secondment until 31st March 2027. We are seeking a highly motivated System Development and Training Officer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Systems Development Team. This is a hybrid role with Officers attending offices across the county on a regular basis to support Children's Service colleagues and stakeholders with system development and the transition of services as part of Surrey County Councils move into Unitary Councils.
