Surgical Admission Lounge HCA

Are you looking for a career that will positively impact your life as well as the lives of others?, We are currently looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to become part of the theatre admissions team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Opportunities include working in theatres itself, supporting the day surgery ward area and contributing to the smooth running of our surgical admissions lounge., This is a varied role, that requires you to be able to work using your own initiative and be able to plan your workload, with the support of senior clinical staff. Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Checking patients into the unit, verifying clinical paperwork (consent, pre-op checklists), and preparing them for theatre.

-Performing clinical observations (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) on patients and documenting them. Opprotunities are availble to develop addiitonal clinical skills, such as phlebotomy and cannualtion, recording ECG's etc.

This is a fast paced environment, which can sometimes be challenging, but is one that makes a real difference to patients and their families, everyday.
