Are you ready to make a real difference in someone's life? At Mencap, we're looking for passionate, caring individuals to join our team of Support Workers in Bury St Edmunds.
In this role, you will support people with learning disabilities to live independently and take part in their everyday life. That might mean supporting with things like cooking, cleaning, laundry, sorting through post and other general day to day activities. You will also have the opportunity to support people with their passions and hobbies during day trips out of the service to the cinema, shopping, meeting friends and more. The work is varied, with no two days quite the same.
You will provide tailored support based on individual needs, including personal care and manual handling where required. You will also use a person-centred, Positive Behaviour Support approach to support individuals who may display behaviours that challenge. Above all, this is a role for people who are reliable, thoughtful and committed to supporting others with dignity and respect.

Shifts & Hours:
We have full time and part time roles available, Shifts can vary between 7am-10pm and weekend work is included in this role so flexibility is essential. We are also looking for a 27 hour per week waking night cover.
Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
