Full Job Description

We're looking for creative, energetic and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Worcester (WR5), supporting four individuals (two women and two men aged 20s-80s) with Angelman Syndrome, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and epilepsy. This is a lively, busy and highly engaging service where no two days are the same. You'll support individuals with 1:1 and 2:1 support, helping them enjoy active, fulfilling lives while ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing needs are met. Who you will be supporting The people you'll support are full of personality, humour and energy. They:

  • Love music, loud environments and social interaction
  • Enjoy theatre, live music and being out in busy settings
  • Have a great sense of humour and strong personalities
  • Communicate through a mix of Makaton and personalised signs
  • Their interests include:
  • Swimming, hydro pools and sensory sessions
  • Zip wires and adventurous activities
  • Shopping trips, people watching and exploring town
  • Eating out - especially enjoying treats like cake, cream and ice cream
  • They thrive with staff who can match their energy, encourage engagement and think creatively about activities. What you will be doing Your role will be varied, hands-on and rewarding, including:
  • Providing personal care and supporting daily routines
  • Using hoists and manual handling equipment (for 3 individuals)
  • Supporting wheelchair users
  • Supporting feeding and meal preparation
  • Administering medication, including epilepsy and Buccal protocols
  • Supporting communication using non-verbal cues and Makaton
  • Encouraging participation in activities and social outings
  • Creating fun, meaningful and engaging experiences
  • Working as part of a committed and supportive team, There is some family involvement, and maintaining respectful, consistent support is key to ensuring positive outcomes.

  • 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • 1:00pm - 9:00pm
  • 3:00pm - 11:00pm + sleep-in (finishing 1:00pm next day)
  • Sleep-ins required (£50 paid to sleep)
  • Rotas are provided in advance to support work-life balance.,
