Full Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker / Teaching Assistant to join a large college we support in Milton Keynes. In this role, you will support students with diverse learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.,

  • Student Support: Provide tailored one-to-one or small-group support within the classroom.
  • Instructional Assistance: Collaborate with class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • SEN Specialism: Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care and hygiene where required.
  • Inclusion: Promote positive behavior and foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Holistic Support: Assist students during practical activities, break times, and off-site educational trips.

    Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people is preferred.
  • SEN Knowledge: A baseline understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Personal Care: A willingness to provide personal care (including assisting with toileting) is essential for this role.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills paired with a patient, empathetic, and reliable nature.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Qualifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are an advantage but not essential.
