Are you an experienced support worker or looking to begin a career in supporting young people in a brand-new service commissioned by Wiltshire Council? Then this is the opportunity for you. We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Accommodation Based Services team providing housing and support to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, and Care Experienced young people in Wiltshire. We are looking for Support Workers to join a new service in full-time positions. Applications from everyone are welcome, including those with lived experience, care experience or refugees with Leave to Remain.
- You will assist the Management Team with the oversight of homes, leading on support and safety.
- You will be a role model to the young people, continually pushing for the highest standards.
- Your support will be trauma-informed. You will understand people's backgrounds and champion diversity and inclusion.
- There is so much variety. You could be helping someone move and settle into their new home, safety planning to reduce harm, helping someone secure their desired job or secure the place on the training course they have aspired to, support with independent living skills, and obtain refugee status. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be patient, kind, resilient, professional, with a calm and caring approach., ^^Contracted staff only. Business mileage (45p a mile) is paid for any daily miles over and above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back. You'll need a well-maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and Insurance covering business use.
