Support Worker - Short Breaks

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support, tailored to each individual's needs, strengths and aspirations. You will work as part of a consistent and supportive team, promoting independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing. Support may include:

• Assisting with meal and drink preparation
• Supporting domestic and household tasks
• Administering and recording medication
• Supporting money management
• Providing personal care in line with individual care plans
• Encouraging and supporting community activities and social inclusion
• Supporting relationships with friends and family
• Providing emotional support
• Using active support and positive behaviour support techniques (training provided), Please note applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for these roles.

Sunderland Care and Support is seeking to recruit Support Workers, this is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference adults with a range of needs including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Our customers have a wide range of complex needs and interventions which can include active support and positive behaviour support techniques. They require consistent members of a team to where you will support them to maintain their safety and may be required to provide support with personal care needs as part of their care plan. Also, to engage them to participate and explore their local communities and activities. This care and support should have the individual at its centre, promote respect, dignity, engagement, and participation throughout the delivery of personalised care and support.


• £13.45 per hour in line with the Foundation Living Way
• 1 x 37 hour or 3 x 32 hours per week positions available
