Support Worker / Carer

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Meal preparation (breakfast, lunch prep and evening meal) and domestic tasks around such as laundry, cleaning the home.
• personal care (help with dressing and appropriate dressing for the weather, personal hygiene, washing body, oral health).
• Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
• The role will work across both gentleman's home and other advertised role of ERYC009207 good friends home across the road - THEY REQUIRE TO HAVE THE SAME WORKER - THIS ROLE IS FOR 6 HOURS PER WEEK ON SAT AND SUN AND THE OTHER ROLE IS FOR 4 HOURS PER WEEK ACROSS SAT AND SUN.
  
  Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
• Be patient, caring and understanding.
• Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
• Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
• Must have use of own car.
• Female workers only due to personal care for both gentleman and female roles.
  
  Hours of work: 6 hours per week for this role however needs worker to cover second role for 4 hours per week across sat and Sunday also, therefore total of 10 hours per week.
Days/Times: Saturdays and sundays Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour if employed / £18.00 per hour if self employed. About the recipient The individual is male, 79 years old and resides in Bridlington. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them due to having rheumatoid arthritis in back, legs, arms, fingers. Diabetes type 2, panic attacks, asthma, heart disease.
• AM - 9.30-10am - 30 minute call to support with personal cares/dressing and undressing/breakfast/meal prep for lunchtime/light domestic duties.
• PM - 4.00pm - 5.30pm - 1.5 hour call.
• Shopping Call/Social - 2 hours per week - to transport gentleman to the supermarket and take him around Tesco in his wheelchair to get his weekly provisions.
