Full Job Description

Here at Cartrefi Cymru, we're a Cooperative, which means putting people at the heart of our decision making and support. Our colleagues, the people we support, and members of our community contribute to how we build community as one of Wales largest support providers. With a new opportunity to join us as an Support Worker you can play a part in this.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. We want to work with the best people with the best skills and who demonstrates our values and are committed to making everyday remarkable., In this engaging and rewarding role, you'll be part of a dedicated team supporting five young adults living in a supported living house. Each person has their own unique interests, routines, and aspirations, and your role will be to help them lead independent, fulfilling lives tailored to their goals and preferences. For example, one of the individuals you'll support is a huge sci-fi fan, with a passion for Doctor Who, Marvel, cinema trips, and collecting movie posters and memorabilia-his flat is a reflection of his love for the genre. Another enjoys being outdoors and takes pride in gardening jobs, while also relaxing with video games, especially his favourite, GTA.

Your day might involve anything from helping someone plan a cinema visit, working alongside them in the garden, or simply supporting them in making everyday decisions about meals, outfits, or daily activities. Some of the individuals we support display behaviours that challenge, and all staff receive full training in positive behaviour management to provide safe, respectful, and consistent care.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower each person to participate in meaningful activities that build confidence and promote new skills. You'll also offer practical help with daily responsibilities such as managing finances, maintaining a home, staying connected with friends and family, and being actively involved in the local community.

This is a hands-on role that includes administering medication and providing personal care, so you'll need to be comfortable and confident in delivering both. A full driving licence is essential, as you'll be supporting individuals in getting out and about-often driving their own vehicles. If you're patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping others live life on their own terms, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every single day-for the people you support and for yourself.

No experience is required as full is training provided. We'd love to hear from you if you:
- have patience and empathy
- can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
- have strong communication and teamwork skills
- are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
- have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
It's not just what you do, it's how you do it - we're looking for someone who can believe and demonstrate our values every day.

Our Benefits:
- Excellent training and development opportunities to achieve qualifications
- 25 days annual leave rising to 30 days after 5 years' service with the option to buy and sell leave
- Benevolent Fund, confidential financial wellbeing resource available to our colleagues
- Long term service awards
- Access to online shopping discounts and benefits platform
- 24 hour access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Eligibility for Blue Light discount card
- We value our colleagues and are proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer
And much much more…..

Our Mission:
To build a better future by focusing on people with learning disabilities and their families. We strive to be a great support provider for the individuals and families that we support, our employees, our partners and funders, and the communities in which we work.
