Full Job Description

We have two Full Time (37.5 hours per week) opportunities available, consisting of one permanent position and one 12-month Fixed-Term Maternity Cover contract, in Houghton Regis, supporting two gentlemen aged in their 30s and 40s. This is a rewarding role where you'll spend time getting to know each person, understanding how they communicate, and supporting them to live full and meaningful lives. The gentlemen enjoy a variety of hobbies, from music and playing the keyboard to gardening, walking, swimming and trips into town. One prefers a quieter lifestyle at home, while the other enjoys getting out and trying new experiences. You'll support them to take part in the interests they enjoy while encouraging choice, independence and new opportunities through Dimensions' award-winning Activate approach. Day-to-day, you'll provide support with personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining important relationships with family members, who play an active role in their lives. You'll work closely with colleagues and families to ensure the people we support achieve outcomes that are important to them and continue living the lives they choose. Shifts: This is a days only with shifts typically covering 7:30am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 10:00pm. There are no sleep-ins or waking nights required, although flexibility is important as the role includes working alternate weekends.

You don't need previous care experience to be a great Support Worker. We're looking for someone who is caring, patient and genuinely interested in supporting people with learning disabilities to live great lives. You'll be able to build positive relationships and recognise different forms of communication. You'll share Dimensions' values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, and be committed to promoting independence, choice and dignity in everything you do. You'll be reliable, flexible and willing to learn, with the confidence to work as part of a team and adapt your approach to meet individual needs. Most importantly, you'll enjoy spending time with people, celebrating their achievements and helping them learn new skills, access opportunities and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
