Support Worker

To work in partnership with foster families, children, and young people to promote safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

To collaborate with supervising social workers, therapeutic teams, and external partners to provide co-ordinated support.

Role Responsibilities & Objectives

Provide timely, needs-led support aligned with care/support plans for children looked after and support to birth children
Complete direct work with children and foster parents and record visits (e.g. Child seen, welfare visit, missing visit, additional unannounced visit, safeguarding supporting visit)
Contribute to stability plans - working directly with children and families via planned support (to include outside of 9am - 5pm Mon to Fri) to minimize placement disruption

Provide direct support to improve outcomes for children in all wellbeing areas.
To include transport to school, planned supervision of contact, practical support to families/children
Undertake work to support independence
Plan/contribute to events for children and families and lead participation, feedback and consultation
Maintain accurate records and share information appropriately
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion
Adhere to data protection and health & safety policies
Work in line with organisational values, policies, and procedures
Undertake reasonable additional duties; JD may be updated for operational needs

Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children, carers and professionals
Self-motivated with a professional, positive attitude
Effective organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently
Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience using database systems (advantageous but not essential)
