Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join our Accommodation Based Services Team, supporting young people aged 16-25 in our homes across Gloucestershire and the Forest of Dean. Our goal is to upskill young people living in our properties to be able to confidently live on their own, manage their life and tenancies, and achieve an independent move on. You'll be providing practical and emotional support to individuals living in our properties, and helping to promote a greater level of independence, whilst being part of a team committed to creating and upholding positive change. The role is full-time (39.375 hours per week) on a rota basis, including alternate weekends, based at our property in Stroud. Part-time and bank hours are also available. What You'll Do

  • Provide guidance and support to enable young people to live independently
  • Promote the rights and interests of the young people
  • Protect them from danger, harm or abuse
  • Liaise with other professionals and stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Help them with life skills such as budgeting, accessing relevant agencies, cookery and so much more!
  • To be successful in this role, you'll need to be patient, kind, resilient and professional, with a calm and caring approach. You'll receive comprehensive training to ensure you are able to deliver support in a trauma informed way. Whilst the role can be challenging at times, the rewards are incredible.
