Support Worker

Location: Skipton, On the Spot Homecare

Salary: £13.71 per hour

Contract type: Permanent

Hours/working pattern: Various

Do you want to make a difference to somebody's life? Are you looking to join a family run business working across the area of Skipton?

Here at On the Spot Homecare, we provide a high quality service to adults in our local community. You will be working alongside adults who may have a physical disability, dementia or are elderly and just require a little extra help!

Your responsibilities would be meal preparation, administering medication, providing personal care and home hygiene. By doing this you are really making a huge difference to somebody's life!

We are based in Skipton with all of our calls in the Skipton area so you won't have to travel very far, and although the travel times through Skipton from call to call are only short, we pay travel time and a fuel allowance plus bonus schemes to help with cost of living increases.

If you do not yet have experience in care, do not worry! We will provide full training along with 2 weeks shadowing. If you do not already hold NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, after your probationary period we will support you to complete this NVQ and also fund the qualification so it costs you nothing!

We have a variety of shifts - 7am to 2pm and 3:30pm to 9:30pm and alternate weekends are expected and some afternoons as well. We also welcome students or semi-retired candidates who maybe looking for some part-time work.

Due to the nature of the job, a full UK driving license is desirable, however if you do not hold a driver's license please still apply.

We are looking for somebody who can work to a high standard so if you think this role would suit you and think you are the caring, patient employee that we are looking for then apply now!

It is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults at risk.

We are committed to the inclusion, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk

This is a role not to miss out on - Call Elle on or email elle.coffey@northyorks.gov.uk for further information.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in being considered for more than one of our vacancies, you will only need to submit ONE application. You can state in the 'Supporting Evidence' section of your application the other roles you would like to be considered for but any suitable roles will be discussed with you.

Together we can Make Care Matter.
