Job Details

  • Are you a dedicated Support Worker with your NVQ Level 3 in Health and social care? Role Type: Day and Waking nights available

  • In this role, you'll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team.

  • While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.

  • Are you a compassionate, intuitive carer with a heart for making meaningful connections? Do you believe that care is more than just a job-it's a calling? If so, we'd love to introduce you to someone truly remarkable.

  • Meet our Client: Our client is a vibrant soul who sustained an acquired brain injury (ABI) following a choking incident. Though non-verbal, his personality beams through every smile, every tear, and every shared moment.

  • He lives independently in his own home and is supported by a close-knit, loving family who are actively involved in his care journey.

  • He's a wheelchair user, has a PEG, and requires full personal care with double-handed support.

  • Communication is beautifully unique-he understands both Welsh and English and responds with expressive smiles or tears.

  • If you're someone who can "read between the lines" and connect beyond words, you'll thrive in this role.

  • Our Clients Favourite Things:

    • Live music (gentle volume!)

    • Football & rugby-especially Manchester United

    • Laughing along to Brassic and other series

    • Trampolining & hydrotherapy

    • Park walks and community outings

    • Visits from Mum, Dad, and their adorable dog

    • Gardening and being outdoors

  • If you're someone who brings warmth, humour, and patience, you'll fit right in.

  • Hours: Day shifts - 8am - 9pm - 2 to 3 shifts a week.

  • Night shifts - 9pm-8am - Weekend shifts Saturday and Sundays.

  • We are happy to consider applicants who can cover both day and night shifts, as well as applicants who are looking for day shifts only or night shifts only.

What you will Need

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and social care or equivalent

  • Kind, patient, and emotionally intelligent

  • Open to a warm meet & greet with the client and his family before starting

What to look forward to

  • Up to £14 per hour depending on NVQ qualification

  • Regular consistent work with set rolling rotas

  • Accrued holiday pay

  • A Nest Personal Pension account

  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme

  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1000 by recommending someone you know

  • And, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group

  • At Active Care Group we want everyone to feel welcome and supported. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or interview process, just let us know and we'd be very happy to discuss this with you.
