Support Worker

Are you an enthusiastic, forward thinking individual who can adapt to changing priorities and deliver high quality healthcare? The Learning Disability Service in Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is staffed by a passionate and dedicated team and is looking for a like-minded individual to join us. A team support worker will provide care and support for patients and service users. You will be involved in implementing care plans and monitoring patients, reporting back to the relevant professional. You will be required to work in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers to support them to live successfully in the community. Please note visa sponsorship for this role is unfortunately not available. Ensure you hold valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful.

Working part time (17 hrs per week, days negotiable) the successful candidate will already have experience of working in a public facing setting. The role will involve working within a multi-disciplinary health and social care team to support people with learning disabilities to live successfully in the community. You will be committed to improving the quality of life for our service users and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The wider Dorset Integrated Community Learning Disabilities Team provides services to mainly rural areas and will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to develop their skills by serving a diverse population. The post holder will be based at the North Dorset Local Office in Sturminster Newton but may be required to work across sites if a specific need arises.
