Full Job Description
You will provide 2:1 support both at home and in the community. Weekday shifts involve collecting Katie from school, supporting snacks, dinner, and play activities. Weekend shifts focus on fun outings and activities suited to Katie's interests and energy levels. You will support mobility, toileting, meals, personal care, and safe participation in activities. Training and use of the family WAV are provided where appropriate. who this role would suit A calm, proactive, and organised support worker who enjoys working with children and can adapt activities to Katie's needs. You will be comfortable working within a family home and supporting communication through signs, gestures, and visual cues. Epilepsy awareness is essential, including monitoring seizures, following care plans, and supporting recovery periods.

A rewarding opportunity providing 2:1 support for Katie, 10, a happy, engaging young girl with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, in her family home and out in the community, helping her enjoy everyday life and special days out. Up to £20.00 gross per hour. Nearest Station: Maidstone Salary/Wage: £18.00 (weekdays) and £20.00 (weekends) gross per hour Driving Requirements: At least one Support Worker must be a confident driver able to drive an automatic Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV). Training can be provided. Minimum age 25 for insurance. Essential:
- Experience supporting a child or young person with epilepsy and mobility needs.
- Confident with personal care and basic manual handling.
- Comfortable working in a family home alongside siblings. Desirable:
- Interest in supporting Physio, OT and SaLT programmes. Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Two roles available providing 2:1 support. Thursday and Friday, 2:30pm-7:00pm, and Sunday, 10:00am-6:00pm. Katie communicates using a small number of words, signs, gestures, and by leading adults. She has cerebral palsy and complex epilepsy. Katie uses a wheelchair but can weight bear and enjoys short walks with support. She requires support with mobility, toileting, personal care, and daily routines.
