Full Job Description

We're looking for a caring, patient and values-driven Support Worker to join our friendly team in RG41. You'll support two young gentlemen in their 30s who have cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and well-managed epilepsy. Both lead active, sociable lives and enjoy being out in the community.

Support is provided 1:1, with a strong focus on independence, dignity and positive engagement.

Who you will be supporting

These two gentlemen are expressive, social, fun and full of personality. Although they do not use words to communicate, they make their needs known clearly through expression, gestures and sounds.

Gent 1 - Active & Adventurous

- Loves long walks

- Enjoys collecting sticks

- Outgoing and happiest being outdoors, You'll play an important role in helping both gentlemen live full, meaningful lives. Your responsibilities will include:

- Personal care

- Hoist use (for one gentleman)

- Supporting walking and wheelchair mobility

- Assisting with meals and dietary needs

- Administering medication

- Encouraging communication and choice through expressions and gestures

- Supporting with hobbies, activities and days out

- Promoting safety, wellbeing and confidence

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being out and about, staying active, and building warm, trusting relationships.

Shift patterns

This is a 30 hour role worked flexibly across the week.
Shifts include:

- 7:00am - 2:30pm

- 2:30pm - 10:00pm

Rotas are provided in advance to support work-life balance.

We're looking for someone who brings empathy, patience and a genuine commitment to helping others thrive.

You will be:

- Caring and values-driven

- A good listener

- Patient, calm and supportive

- Able to read additional signs of communication

- Happy to be active and out in the community

- Comfortable with personal care and mobility support

- A driver (preferred but not essential)
