Full Job Description

Since the early days, we've grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of 'Your Life, Your Choice' and our strategy 'Best Lives, Bolder'. We have strong values and we're proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going 'the extra mile' for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and PPE you need in your role and we will help you develop, should you decide you want to further your career with us. . Who you'll be supporting & more about the role: This residential service is a warm, welcoming home located at the end of a quiet and pretty road. There is plenty of parking on the driveway and along the roadside, and the house has a lovely garden where the people we support enjoy sitting in the sunshine, chatting, and spending time together. As a Support Worker, you'll be working with four adults aged between 29 and 69, all with their own personalities, interests, and support needs. Some people walk independently, while others need support to mobilise safely. Communication also varies - some people use speech, while others use Makaton, objects of reference, or non-verbal communication. To support everyone confidently, you will receive full training in medication, moving and positioning, dysphagia, epilepsy, and other specialist areas. This is a home full of fun and character. The people who live here love:

  • Bowling, cinema trips, and shopping days
  • Going out for dinner or for relaxing drives
  • Visiting zoos, aquariums, and enjoying nature
  • Music, karaoke sessions, games, and arts & crafts
  • Garden time, parties, and spending time together
  • Working towards personal goals - e.g. one person we support hopes to visit Harry Potter World!

They enjoy being around staff who are happy, patient, motivated, and have a good sense of humour. They appreciate people who think creatively, bring new ideas, and help make every day enjoyable. They would not enjoy support from people who are unhappy, insensitive, or who take things too seriously.
  • Their home is a spacious five-bedroom house, recently redecorated and much-loved. There are beautiful front and back gardens, communal areas for relaxing together, and a peaceful atmosphere thanks to the quiet cul-de-sac location. Friendly neighbours and a strong sense of community make it an even more special place to live and work. The local area offers beaches, parks, shops, restaurants, bowling, cinemas, and easy access to bigger towns and nearby cities. Although public transport can be limited at times, the home has a vehicle available - so a full UK Manual driving licence is essential. Every shift here is different, and every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact. You'll help people enjoy their routines, try new things, build independence, and live the best life possible - all while building strong, meaningful relationships with the staff team and the wonderful people who live here. Your values: Being happy, friendly and enjoying interactions with the people we support is the key to this exciting opportunity. We are looking for easy going, calm, kind and animated people to join our cheery team. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. Naturally it is important that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care & support. People's values are important to us, so we are looking for people with: - Patience - Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others - A strong work ethic - Reliability - Honesty - Determination - Resilience
