Full Job Description

The Role at a Glance: You will support Rosie mainly at weekends with personal care, PEG feeds, fluids and medication, pain management, repositioning, and manual handling using ceiling track hoists (in both the family and holiday home). Support also includes accessing activities, events and family life. Some days focus on comfort at home, where Rosie enjoys quiet conversation, studying or online shopping. Overnight shifts may involve occasional assistance with repositioning, personal care or adjusting bedding, monitored via an audio monitor. This Job Would Suit: An experienced Complex Care Support Worker confident in manual handling and medical care, able to provide availability four weeks in advance. Complex Care Support Worker, Guildford, GU1. A compassionate and experienced Complex Care Support Worker is required to support Rosie, a wonderful 20-year-old young woman. £18.25 gross per hour. Nearest Station: Guildford Salary/Wage: £18.25 gross per hour Driving Requirements: Driver not essential Essential: Experience in complex medical care (PEG, administering controlled medication, pain management); confident with personal care and manual handling.

Rosie has a degenerative condition and requires 1:1 support, with 2:1 support during the day when needed. She is an electric wheelchair user and her condition also affects her hearing, eyesight and speech. Rosie communicates verbally in quiet settings and knows her own mind. She receives nutrition and fluids via PEG and takes strong pain medication. Rosie attends college weekly during term time and studies criminology through the Open University, requiring support with accessing learning materials and coursework.
