- James is an outgoing, sociable young man with a love for life! He enjoys getting out and about in the community, attending music events and watching his favourite TV shows. He's looking for a Support Worker / Personal Assistant who can be a reliable companion and motivator - someone who can bring out his independence and help him reach his goals. About the Role: As Support Worker / Personal Assistant, you will support a 28-year-old male with a learning disability who is supported by 2 staff during the day and 1 staff member overnight for the sleep-in shift. You'll work closely with him and his support network, focusing on promoting his well-being, fostering skills, and enhancing his sense of community. Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Living Support: Help James with daily activities, meal preps, and light household tasks to keep his routine running smoothly.
- Community Adventures: Accompany James on outings - whether it's going to the shops, attending local events, or exploring the best coffee spots in Chorley.
- Skill Building & Independence: Work alongside James to develop life skills that boost his confidence and self-sufficiency.
- Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with James, providing companionship, encouragement, and a positive vibe every day.
- Health & Well-being Monitoring: Look out for James safety, well-being, and overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care team.
Resilient and Reliable: You stay calm and focused under pressure and are always there when you're needed. - Positive and Patient: You have a knack for seeing the good in any situation and are patient in helping others get there too.
- Great Communication Skills: You connect well with James, his family, and the wider team, making sure everyone's aligned.
- Experience (Preferred but Not Required): Whether you've worked in care or not, a great attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.
- Driver's License is Required: For taking James on outings and helping him stay engaged in the community.
