Working with a high degree of autonomy, the post holder will be responsible for implementing, configuring and supporting system developments, upgrades and deployments across multiple Trust sites. They will ensure systems remain fit for purpose and continue to meet operational requirements. The role involves analysing complex data and system processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and enhance performance. The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of practical, sustainable process improvements aligned to organisational objectives. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will provide specialist advice and support to stakeholders, promote system adoption, deliver user training and ensure compliance with agreed standards and best practice., Provide specialist advice, guidance and support on Supply Chain Systems matters to all clients ensuring that compliance is maximised in line with best practice and targets. Key KPI's for this role would be systematic reporting of inventory holdings and locations to optimise inventory holding and locations for picking and benchmarking across the trusts to identify strengths and weaknesses. Identify and articulate an agreed base line position, set quantifiable measures of improvement, particularly with reference to reducing cost and improving efficiency and demonstrate that these have been delivered. Implementation and control ABC analysis of inventory holding making recommendations on stock levels against consumption. Reduce wastage (age expired) by 50% as systems deployed Map and analyse system processes and identify ways to reduce waste, improve work flow, and otherwise increase efficiency/productivity. Strong decision making and analytical skills with a focus on delivering and exceeding results. Ability to make decisions by determining key points from complex data and multiple information strands. Planning & Organisation Skills Co-ordinate performance/management information which allows the Service and staff to identify issues, continuously improve performance and achieve the objectives of One LSC Execute the Supply Chain and Logistics strategy in order to deliver best practice across the procurement and supply chain landscape. Support the Service in the development and delivery of the Logistics and Supply Chain business services Increase stock turns to acceptable level in consultation with customers Physical Skills Standard keyboard skills Responsibilities for Patient/Client Care Incidental contact Responsibilities for Policy & Service Development/Implementation Support strategic framework to ensure that policies, procedures, documentation and practices regarding Supply Chain Systems. Providing information and support to the service and One LSC Trusts, which ensures continuous improvement in the service the One LSC provides. Support the development of new Business Cases for consideration by the Director of Procurement. This will include the development of a strategy for adoption of GS1/PEPPOL standards. Responsibilities for Finance & Physical Resources Support the Business Improvement and Deployment planning process for One LSC trusts to deliver cash releasing savings and balanced scorecard objectives in line with requirements and expectations of the Service. Support the delivery of a logistics and supply chain service which meets the needs of customers and progressively achieves efficiency savings. To be achieved by working closely with partner Trusts to improve existing systems and providing demonstrable value for money improvements to Trusts. Systematic reporting of inventory holdings and locations. Conduct regular stock holding reviews. Stock turns, slow moving, aging stock, product recalls and segregation. Responsible for reduction in inventory holdings across all trusts as systems deployed by 10%. Financial target will be confirmed for each trust. Responsibilities for Human Resources Manage teams within a matrix environment across the trusts, ensuring effective motivation and individual professional development in line with Procurement and Trust objectives. Supporting a culture of transparency, flexible working and continuous improvement which enables the team to strive for excellence, deliver its strategy, objectives and priorities. Train users across the systems to remove operator error whilst working with cross functional teams to resolve on-going integration issues. Manage conflicts and resistance to change as part of change management process within the deployment of the Supply Chain Systems. Identify and develop staff for development and training during System Deployment. Responsible for succession planning for Super User pool Ability to manage a team to deliver and exceed targets. Responsibilities for Information Resources Ensure data compliance is maintained at all times within the Supply Chain Systems as Scan for Safety is deployed. Oversee the timely return of procurement & supply chain and other metrics and performance data as required by central bodies such as NHS Improvement and the Department of Health. Manage the deployment of Materials Management systems across the trusts Manage the materials management systems, system processes and test system deployment across the One LSC trusts. Maintain test system environment to match the current live systems across the One LSC Trusts. Managing system deployment of live system including upgrades and enhancements ensuring no impact to customer service or financial impact Support manager to review system processes to improve user productivity and operational redundancy. Maintain R&D of systems and supply chain to ensure best in class operational delivery Responsible for driving agenda for system development with system provider Responsible for transitions, upgrades, and shifts in job structure, including defining and tracking performance metrics Responsibilities for Research & Development Responsible for benchmarking initiatives to support performance delivery and continuous improvement with a view to maximising benefits for Trusts and achieving appropriate accreditation Freedom to Act The post holder will work with the Logistics and Supply Chain management team to manage professional, customer-focussed initiatives which achieves significant and sustainable improvements in outcomes and efficiency/productivity for procurements partners. This person will be expected to work at a strategic level with stakeholders The post holder will support the Service and be responsible for validating business processes, providing operational procedures for training and development.
