Full Job Description

Support the Head of Hockey in the design, delivery and administration of the coaching programme across the Participation to Performance spectrum of a successful men's and women's hockey programme. Support and deliver coaching where appropriate across the programme offering performance athlete and player support. Assist with the coach development and recruitment activity for Hockey, including attending Open Days and specific age group key hockey events. Work closely with the clubs committee and young leaders, to support the thriving nature of the Hockey club. You will work inside the Performance team which has a wide range of sports coaches and MDT (multi-disciplinary team) and attend the weekly coaches meeting.What will you be doing? This part-time role is perfect for those passionate about sports and coaching, particularly in a dynamic and competitive environment. You will have the opportunity to work closely to develop international players and those at the top of their game. As the hockey coordinator you be involved in planning and leading sessions, coaching on a Wednesday with our BUCS teams and on the weekend in the senior league.

  • Bring extensive experience of developing high potential players in club & performance environments.
  • Have active accredited coach status with England Hockey, holding at minimum England Hockey Level 2 Coach Award, alongside an ability to demonstrate continuous personal development beyond this. Hold an up-to-date Safeguarding Certificate.
  • Demonstrate experience of team-working / co-coaching with other coaches to deliver a safe, prosperous & high-quality development environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rounded athlete development & be passionate about sport as part of a rounded lifestyle.
  • Are an excellent, rounded leader of people, focusing on developing a long-term culture of learning & performance.
  • Able to thrive in a pressured environment of irregular hours, and capacity to travel domestically when required.
  • Are driven by achieving results, a passion to succeed
  • Are conscientious, committed, punctual & reliable
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal & written communication skills.
