Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, motivated and innovative nurse leader to join our small, friendly and committed team in a Supervisory Sister/ Charge Nurse role at Weston Oncology and Haematology Day Unit.
Our lovely 9 chair unit delivers SACT and supportive therapies to patients with haematological and oncology diagnoses. Building relationships and delivering person centred care is at the heart of the support we offer to patients throughout their cancer journey.
Experience of cancer nursing and SACT delivery are desirable for this role, but not essential as we have a wide range of educational opportunities available to a candidate with proven leadership and strong management skills. This role will be closely supported by the Cancer Matron based in Weston, Lead SACT Nurse for the Trust, the nursing leadership team of the Day unit at BHOC, and the Specialised Services Head of Nursing Team.
Provide Supervisory support to a team of registered nurses and health care support workers
Clinical delivery of nursing care to patients receiving SACT and other supportive therapies
Unit management of rosters, risk assessment, datix, appraisal, HR, recruitment, leave, budgets, patient safety, quality improvement projects
Supporting efficiency and effectiveness of unit processes to ensure smooth delivery of treatment to patients close to their homes, Close working with leadership team to ensure safe efficient effective services
Support innovation in treatment and processes
Support education and development of the nursing team
Support daily co-ordination of the unit
Ensure all management processes are in place and up to date to support the team
Provide assurances to the division and wider Trust teams
Contribute to Trust initiatives and work within the wider Specialised Services band 7 team
