Supervisor, Materials

We are looking for a Materials Supervisor, based in York, to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all operational processes. If planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations is in your DNA then this is the job for you! About the Role How you will contribute

• Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution of all items either from suppliers or production shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of team members; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
• Monitors the unloading or loading of all materials into or out of the facility. Supervise the movement of material to and from storage in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
• Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  Position requires a high school diploma. A college degree is preferred.
• Experience supervising in an automotive or logistics based industry.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate and deal with a variety of people including internal and external customers, management, and functional departments.
