Full Job Description

The post holder will be a key member in supporting the Decontamination Management team to provide comprehensive, high quality and efficient service for the decontamination of flexible endoscopes.
The endoscopy supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of the Endoscopy Decontamination Unit, with a direct input to the level of efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness of the department.
The post holder will supervise the band 2 technicians & the band 3 coordinators daily; to ensuring all staff adhere to the Infection Control policy for the department: making sure all personnel including visitors wear the appropriate PPE for each area.
Prioritise the day-to-day activities across the service and deputies for the decontamination management when delegated to do so, ensuring that all areas are adequately staffed and supervised.
The post holder will also carry out the Weekly Test, which include the Water Samples & Protein Test & the PCD Test., + To develop and maintain effective channels of communication with internal and external service users, theatres, wards and departments and staff within the department.
+ To ensure that all staff maintain and update their skills, through appropriate training; ensuring that they can work effectively in all areas of the department. Carry out Technician's annual KSF Review / Appraisals and agree staff personal development plans.
+ Support the Operational Managers to ensure that all staff within the department undertakes the required mandatory training within the defined frequencies.
+ Take a share of the responsibility for the local induction and training of any new staff, instructing all staff about any changes to the service.
+ Monitor the performance of the staff to ensure that they comply with the standards required. This includes training of work placements such as student cadets and ODP's & other user within the trust.
+ To be responsible for the day-to-day performance management issues, relating to the Decontamination Technicians. Report continued staff timekeeping lapses and sickness absence issues to the management team.
