Full Job Description

Our Retail team are opening a brand-new Superstore in Bishop Auckland, and we are looking for friendly, reliable Retail Assistants to help create a welcoming and successful shopping environment. This exciting new store will offer a mix of bought in products and donated goods, providing customers with great value while supporting vital care for people living with terminal illness and their families. As a Retail Assistant, you will be at the heart of the customer experience, helping ensure the shop is well-presented, fully stocked, and a pleasure to visit. You will work as part of a supportive team alongside staff and volunteers, assisting with a variety of tasks including serving customers, preparing stock, organising displays, and maintaining a clean and safe environment., You will be responsible for

  • Providing excellent customer and supporter service throughout the store, on sales floor and at till point including payment processes and customer loyalty sign up
  • Working to agreed processing systems within the stockroom in order to deliver large volumes of stock to support the needs of the sales floor (Including Stocktake)
  • Using great visual merchandising with enhanced feature display and strong commercial windows & regular stock rotation to curate your donated product in order to drive sales and footfall
  • Maximising gift aid income from donated goods
  • Ensuring the appropriate standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the store including the sales floor, stock processing area, offices and communal areas

    Previous experience in a retail environment
  • Experience handling cash and working on the till
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation
