Join us as a Substation Inspector and help keep the power network safe, reliable, and future-ready across the UK Power Networks Services region. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an electrical background who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and taking pride in maintaining critical infrastructure. • Cleaning and maintaining substation internals and exteriors
  • Conducting vegetation management around compounds
  • Carrying out ESQC regulatory site visits
  • Performing HV and LV meter readings
  • Completing touch-up redecoration tasks as required
  • This role requires flexibility - you may work alone or as part of a wider team, and your work will take you across the Services area.

  • Understanding of the Electricity at Work Act
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and maps
  • A full clean driving licence
  • Practical problem-solving skills
  • Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
  • Confidence using handheld devices
  • Familiarity with chemicals, safety data sheets, and sharps handling
  • And personally, you're someone who is:
  • Safety-driven
  • Determined and proactive
  • Eager to learn and develop
  • Able to provide a 5-year traceable work history (for airport security clearance)

Along with a competitive salary and bonus, you'll also receive:
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Reservist Leave - 18 days full pay + 22 days unpaid
  • Pension Plan with up to 10% employer contribution
  • Season Ticket & Tenancy Loan
  • Cycle to Work, Tech & Home, and Green Car Leasing schemes
  • Occupational Health & EAP support
  • Switched On discount scheme
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Be Part of Something Powerful If you're passionate about safety, enjoy keeping things running smoothly, and want to build a career within a trusted, forward-thinking engineering environment - we'd love to hear from you.
