Full Job Description
As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Manage a caseload of psychosocial patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
- Work with receptions (new patients entering the prison), triaging and carrying out assessments
- Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction, motivation to change, relapse prevention and wellbeing
- Deliver SMART sessions, Narcotics Anonymous, Inside Out etc
- Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments, including SMART Recovery
- Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices

- Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
- Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
- Have experience of managing a caseload

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team at HMP Millsike in Yorkshire. HMP Millsike is a new state of the art Category C prison, with capacity of 1500 males. Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. Hours This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week. 6.45am - 5.45pm over 3 or 4 days, Monday to Friday only, no weekends or nights., This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of up to £33,510 per annum., It doesnt stop there we also offer: - Company pension scheme
