Full Job Description

Overview SMS Clinical Lead to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a Category B prison located on Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Role Details Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm, no weekends or evenings. Salary: Full-time annual up to £58,012 per annum FTE, depending on experience. How We Support You

  • Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
  • Deputise for the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
  • Coach, line-manage and develop clinical staff; support audits, governance and review of clinical/non-clinical operating protocols.
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings, provide clinical supervision, and conduct investigations locally and regionally.
  • Deliver workshops to develop the team's learning in areas such as clinical processes, documentation, patient care and joint Healthcare & HMPPS processes.
  • Support patient concerns, contribute to HMPPS/partner meetings, and progress actions from these meetings, overseeing local patient engagement strategy.
  • Lead and support the team on safeguarding, rota management, manage shortages, and sign off agency nurse hours and staff payroll.

  • Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered Nurse - Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC) and evidence of continued professional development
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working complexities
  • Prescribing experience advantageous
  • Existing line-management experience and student nurse mentorship
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Legal right to work in the UK is required. Employment offers subject to additional vetting and security checks.
