Study Coordinator - INTERNAL ONLY

We are seeking an experienced Senior Study Coordinator to join the TOUR team and support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of oncology studies and clinical trials. Working closely with Professor Mieke Van Hemelrijck and clinical collaborators, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating clinical research activities from study setup through to closeout. The role includes patient recruitment, informed consent, protocol implementation, sample management, data collection, regulatory compliance and trial documentation. The post holder will manage an allocated portfolio of studies, acting as a key liaison between patients, clinicians, researchers and external collaborators. They will ensure studies are conducted in accordance with ICH-GCP, research governance requirements, the Human Tissue Act and sponsor requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced research coordinator with a strong interest in oncology to contribute to high-quality translational cancer research within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Essential criteria:

• First degree in a health sciences or related discipline.
• Knowledge of ICH-GCP, R&D Governance, EU Clinical Trials Directive and Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations.
• Ability to acquire detailed protocol knowledge and communicate protocol requirements to both professionals and patients.
• Knowledge of research ethics and governance frameworks and ability to facilitate research applications.
• More than two years' experience as a Clinical Trials Coordinator, Clinical Project Manager or equivalent clinical research role.
• Experience working independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable criteria:
• Additional qualification in clinical trials or clinical research.
• Experience working within the NHS.
• Project management experience.
• Experience supporting research staff.
• Experience contributing to protocol or study documentation development
  
  The Transforming Cancer Outcomes through Research (TOUR) team is committed to improving cancer outcomes through translational oncology research. Led by Professor Mieke Van Hemelrijck, the team brings together researchers, clinicians, students, research nurses and study coordinators working across a broad range of oncology projects.
TOUR conducts research spanning clinical epidemiology, bioinformatics, biobanking, immunology, radiotherapy, patient-reported outcomes and clinical trials. Through close collaboration with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and international research partners, the team seeks to translate research findings into improvements in patient care and quality of life.
