An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Children's Nurse to undertake with the Community Children's Nursing (CCN) Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) programme. The position is a one-year post-registration programme which enables Nurses to fulfil the academic and practice requirements of the University and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

The programme is provided jointly with the University of Surrey and commences in September 2025. We will support student CCNs to complete the programme on a full time basis over 1 year or a part-time basis over 2 years based with either our Portsmouth or Southampton CCN team.

The SPQ CCN student will work as part of the CCN team, providing high quality holistic, family centred nursing care for children, young people and families with acute and short-term conditions, long term conditions, disabilities, complex health conditions, continuing care needs, life limiting, life-threatening illness, including palliative and end of life care needs.

The SPQ CCN student will learn from experienced professionals who are experts in their respective fields, ensuring high quality education and supervision.
