An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic student recruitment professional to join one of the largest universities in the UK. In this role, you will help prospective students explore their options and choose the right course for their future. About the team and role The Recruitment and Admissions Department (R&A) provides a seamless service to prospective students, from their first enquiry through to enrolment, across all courses and study levels. We support enquirers, applicants, staff and external stakeholders through a wide range of services. Each year, we communicate with over 100,000 enquirers and applicants through our recruitment campaigns, welcome more than 40,000 visitors to campus, and deliver over 800 off-campus events. We also manage offer-making and communications for over 80,000 applications annually. Providing clear, high-quality information, advice and guidance is at the heart of what we do, helping students make informed decisions about higher education and Manchester Metropolitan University. We work on a hybrid basis, and are in the office at least two days each week. The Student Recruitment Officer (Postgraduate) supports the delivery of multi-channel communication plans that enhance our home postgraduate recruitment and events strategy. You will work across a range of channels, including email, web and print, with a strong focus on delivering personalised, data-led communications using CRM systems to support conversion activity. You will work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure a positive and seamless student journey. The role also includes supporting the planning, management and delivery of large-scale, end-to-end on-campus events, as well as contributing to the successful delivery of complex recruitment events both on campus and online.

  • Knowledge of higher education, ideally within a student recruitment environment.
  • Experience of delivering clear and effective communications to a range of audiences.
  • Good working knowledge of CRM principles, and experience of delivering information, advice and guidance through multiple marketing channels.
  • Experience of planning, organising and delivering projects and large-scale events involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to review and evaluate communications and events, identifying improvements and future opportunities.

Manchester Metropolitan University fosters an inclusive culture of belonging that promotes equity and celebrates diversity. We value a diverse workforce for the innovation and diversity of thought it brings and welcome applications from all local and international communities, including Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • We support a range of flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and tailored schedules, which can be discussed with your line manager. If you require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process or in your role, please let us know so we can provide appropriate support. Our commitment to inclusivity includes mentoring programmes, accessibility resources, and professional development opportunities to empower and support underrepresented groups. Manchester Met is a Disability Confident Leader and, under this scheme, aims to offer an interview to disabled people who apply for the role and meet the essential criteria as listed in the attached Job Description for that vacancy. This vacancy is expected to attract a high volume of applications. Therefore, under the Disability Confident Scheme, only disabled people who apply under the scheme and best meet the essential criteria will be offered an interview.
