Full Job Description

The Acquisitions Team is part of the Collection Management and Development division which works to acquire and give access to resources purchased in support of teaching learning and research across the University
Role Summary
The role supports: the Librarys acquisition of print books and eBooks; interlibrary loans (incoming); and resource list management.
Main Duties
+ Receipting newly delivered books
+ Creating invoices on the Library Management System
+ Receipting books ordered from online booksellers on purchase card
+ Processing interlibrary loan arrivals and returns
+ Unpacking book boxes and checking delivery notes
+ Opening post
+ Creating resource lists on Reading List Management Software
+ Processing eBook invoices.
+ Working on Resource Lists/eBook spreadsheets, The University of Birmingham restricts all students to working up to 20 hours per week during term time. If your application is successful and your course does not follow the usual academic term timetable (e.g. PGT PGR or PhD student) you and your supervisor must formally agree vacation periods if this role exceeds 20 hours per week. In addition to this please be aware if you are an International student you will be required to apply to the Registry for the appropriate Authorised Absence.
