Full Job Description

Lewisham College, part of NCG Group, is looking to recruit a talented Student Bursary Advisor. Based at our Lewisham campus, the successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Student Finance Coordinator.The Student Bursary Advisor plays a key role in supporting students to access and sustain their learning by providing high-quality financial support, advice and guidance. The role focuses on administering bursary funding and financial support schemes, helping to remove financial barriers to education and enable students to fully engage with their studies and achieve their potential.Working closely with Student Services and curriculum teams, the postholder will contribute to maximising student engagement, attendance and success. They will ensure that financial support processes are accessible, responsive and delivered to a high standard, while maintaining compliance with funding regulations and College procedures. The main duties of the post holder are:
Administer bursary funds and financial support schemes, including processing applications and paymentsProvide clear, accurate information, advice and guidance on financial support to students and staffPromote bursary and financial support opportunities across the College, including during enrolment and inductionMonitor attendance-linked funding criteria and liaise with curriculum teams where concerns ariseMaintain accurate student and financial records using College systems (e.g. PayMyStudent)Communicate effectively with students regarding payments, eligibility and required evidenceSupport the administration of travel schemes and other student financial support processesContribute to reporting, funding claims and audit requirementsWork collaboratively with Student Services and curriculum teams to ensure coordinated student support
