Student Ambassador Scheme

The Recruitment and Admissions (R&A) team are currently seeking to recruit proactive, organised, professional, and enthusiastic students currently studying an undergraduate course at Manchester Met to become Student Ambassadors. Successful applicants will assist in the delivery of the University's core recruitment and widening participation strategies. Successful candidates will be required to provide information to prospective students including the benefits of higher education and address the key selling points of Manchester Met. The Student Ambassador roles are casual, offering flexibility when working around study commitments. Work opportunities are more frequent during school semesters. Student Ambassadors Student Ambassadors are mostly required for front of house duties at university recruitment events, such as Open Days and Visit Days. Most of the recruitment events are on Wednesdays and Saturdays, therefore you will typically need to be available on these days. The role could also include assisting with office duties such as supporting with the Clearing process in the months of July or August., Student Ambassadors will primarily:

• Represent the University at recruitment events, such as Open Days and Visit Days.
• Support the set-up of recruitment events such as preparing and dismantling exhibition areas
• Act as a tour guide giving visitors an informative overview of the university campuses and telling them about student life

  This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -
• Current undergraduate student studying Events Management
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff, prospective students and teachers
• Able to be a positive role model to young people
• Responsible attitude and the ability to show initiative
• Able to contribute and work effectively as part of a team or independently
• A commitment to providing excellent customer service and a professional approach, at all times
• A positive perspective on HE, educational experiences more broadly, and the University
• Able to work flexibly to ensure smooth delivery of events
• Willing to complete mandatory training before commencing work
