Stress Engineer - T400 Concessions (Nights)

Location: Broughton, Cheshire - onsite

Shift: Nights, Monday to Thursday, 20:45-06:00 (30% night shift allowance)

Rate: £38.88 PAYE or £52.00 per hour Umbrella - dependent on experience

Contract: Inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus)

Process: One-stage interview

See the wings that fly the world's aircraft - built right outside your window. Airbus, the world's leading aircraft manufacturer, has an exciting new opportunity to join the Wing Analysis Engineering Team, working alongside the Plant Engineering Team at Broughton, UK.

You'll be based right next to the Broughton wing assembly lines, where Single Aisle, Long Range and A350 wings are manufactured - giving you the rare chance to see the physical product take shape every day. The Broughton Plant produces the wings for around half of all aircraft delivered worldwide each year.

About the team

You'll join a team of Structural Engineers - a mix of technical specialists and engineering leads - all passionate about finding technical solutions that support Airbus Wing products.

About the role

You'll work as a Stress Engineer within the Broughton Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET), alongside our existing stress analysts. As the Broughton Plant operates 24 hours a day, this role is targeted for night shift working.

What You'll Be Doing

• Performing static structural analysis on both composite and metallic structures


• Analysing and validating metallic, composite and hybrid structures at component level for static strength and fatigue & damage tolerance (F&DT), producing strength margins and reserve factors in line with validated Airbus methods and sizing processes


• Providing stress analyses to support the repair and acceptance of metallic, composite and hybrid structures


• Ensuring airworthiness requirements are met across aircraft structures

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Stress signatory/approval status, ideally including T400 Concessions Approval (candidates without a formal approval but with strong relevant stress and/or concessions experience will also be considered)


• An aviation background with knowledge of Airbus

Desirable:

• Experience with other aircraft types, including military aircraft, or related product knowledge
