Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Street Scene Operative - Level 3 (Grade 6) to join our Street Scene service on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a forward-thinking, dedicated team committed to delivering top-quality, customer-focused street cleansing and grounds maintenance services in a modern, efficient, and effective way. Our Street Scene service now brings both functions together to provide a seamless approach to maintaining the borough. This important position forms part of our front-line workforce, carrying out a range of grounds maintenance operations across the Dudley Borough. To carry out horticultural and grounds maintenance support tasks using tractors and their implements including tractor/loaders, trailers and tractor mounted grass cutting equipment and undertake these duties in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Applicants must hold a driving licence 1. Must hold current driving licence with Category F or hold a licence issued on or before 31.12.96 which is subject to checking with the DVLA. 2. NPTC level 1 Tractor Driving or equivalent. Typical duties include:

  • Must be fully conversant with all aspects of tractors and their implements, both powered and non-powered.
  • A variety of street cleansing and grounds maintenance tasks, such as hedge & vegetation maintenance, grass cutting operations, weed & moss removal, driving duties to include C1
  • Maintaining our Housing sites, grass highways and verges and supplying direction and support to the team.
  • Other duties may include: Litter picking and bin emptying, manual sweeping & fly-tipping removal
  • The role will primarily focus on grounds maintenance within the Dudley North area. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong leadership qualities, with the ability to direct daily operations and provide guidance and support to team members. Flexibility is essential, as duties and locations may vary depending on service needs.
