The Street Cleansing Driver/Operative position is for 37 hours per week, covering 7 days on a 37-hour rota basis between 6am - 10pm. The fixed salary is £27,269 (£14.13 per hour) with 27 days of annual leave, increasing after 5 years' service, and participation in the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The successful candidate will manage a team of street cleansing operatives in maintaining a clean and well-maintained street network, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of street cleansing services within the Borough of Hastings and St. Leonards. The successful candidate will drive and operate a selection of cleansing vehicles as well as undertake general street cleansing duties. The postholder will ensure that a high standard of cleansing is maintained and will have excellent customer service skills.

• Essential: Cat C1 (7.5t) Driving Licence category with current valid DCPC & Tacho Card.


• Desirable: Cat C (Class 2) Driving Licence category with current valid DCPC & Tacho Card.
