Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Strategy Engineer to join our Race Strategy team, playing a key role in delivering competitive, data-driven race strategy support. This role blends live race decision-making, advanced data analysis, and tool development, requiring close collaboration with multiple trackside and factory departments. This is an opportunity to operate at the heart of race operations within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, where accuracy, judgement, and communication are essential, and where your work can have an immediate and visible impact on race execution.
- Supporting the majority of race events from the factory mission control and trackside as required.
- Contributing to the direction and development of race strategy methodology.
- Designing, developing, and improving tools used to optimise race strategy.
- Preparing race models and analysing weekend data and competitor performance.
- Providing live, in-session analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Communicating strategy updates clearly and confidently directly to the pit wall.
- Supporting pre-event preparation, live event execution, and post-event analysis.
- Working collaboratively with other trackside and factory departments.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities aligned to the role as required.
Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or a related discipline. - Strong experience in data analysis and applied statistics.
- Programming and technical experience, ideally including: + Python, MATLAB, Excel VBA + MongoDB, SQL + Plotly/Dash + C#, Visual Studio or .NET
- Highly self-motivated with the flexibility to work irregular hours around race weekends.
- The ability to make fast, data-driven decisions under extreme pressure.
- A logical, analytical approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
- A solid understanding of race strategy and race modelling concepts.
- Confidence using intercom and radio systems during live sessions.
