Full Job Description

Creating change that makes a real difference to people's lives. Immersing yourself in teams and areas of work where you really get to know what's important. Building relationships which impact. Adopting key priorities and challenges as your own. Taking time to truly understand issues and bring people together to produce ideas, solutions and lasting positive change. If these are the things on which you thrive, this could the role for you. You'll exude natural interpersonal skills, be it presenting or talking 121. Confidently managing projects, demonstrating strong organisational skills and being able to see the bigger picture together with an ability to lead, inspire and support and encouraging continual learning will be key to success in the role.

Wigan Council has been voted 'Overall Council of the Year' at the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Awards. We are signed up to the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment ensuring that your service will be continuous or 'unbroken' between the supporting organisations.

The Progress with Unity plan is a place movement for change for the next decade, bringing a new era for Wigan Borough. It draws on the strengths of our individual organisations, recognising that together we can achieve much more for our communities by delivering on our 2 place missions; create fair opportunities for all children, families, residents and businesses and make our towns and neighbourhoods flourish for those who live and work in them.

This role is unique in that you get the best of all worlds. You're part of the Transformation Service and as one of the Strategic Transformation Managers, you'll be delivering cross-cutting transformation programmes that, alongside partnership strategies, will support delivery of our place missions. Whilst your 'home service' will be the Adult Social Care and Health team yet the size and cross-cutting nature of the priorities will see you building impactful relationships and sharing knowledge, experience and ideas across the council.
